Swiss designer Jürg Lehni deployed Hektor, a spray-paint output device, to print his inquiry onto the physical surfaces of the FOI gallery and Reading Room. As an extension of Lehni’s inquiry, Hektor reproduced the graphic conventions used in architectural drawing to represent material and construction methodologies. The FOI Reading Room was sprayed with selected typographical references and patterns from Ernst and Peter Neufert’s Architects’ Data. The live four hour performance concluded with a gallery talk by Jürg Lehni.
