David James Bennewith studied at the Werkplaats Typografie, Arnhem, The Netherlands. As well as working in a commercial graphic design studio in New Zealand, he has worked as a freelance designer on various projects — mostly in cultural sectors — in New Zealand, the UK and The Netherlands. Recent commissions have come from the Lisson Gallery, London; Piet Zwart Academie, Rotterdam; and Dutch artists Bik van der Pol, for a book project for the Istanbul Biennial in September 2007.
